Your Premium trial

ByteThirst Premium starts with a free 7-day trial. This article walks through what’s included, when billing kicks in, and how to cancel before that happens.

What you get

The trial unlocks the full Premium feature set on day one — there’s no graduated entitlement. You see what you’re paying for, not a trimmed preview.

  • Unified dashboard — combined Chrome extension + CLI estimates, cross-device sync, 30/60/90-day history.
  • 21 achievement badges with streak milestones.
  • Workflow recommendations — when ByteThirst spots a repeat workflow running on a heavier model than it needs, it surfaces a one-click tier-swap suggestion. (Requires ~3 days of tracked sessions before the engine has enough data.)
  • Weekly impact cards you can share on social.

Card on file

ByteThirst Premium requires a card on file at signup to activate the trial.

  • Your card is captured at signup and stored by Stripe — ByteThirst never sees the full number.
  • We bill the regular monthly or annual rate ($4.99/mo or $39.99/yr) the day the trial ends, automatically.
  • You can cancel any time before the trial ends and you won’t be charged.

Reminders

We send a reminder email two days before the trial ends, and surface an in-app banner on the dashboard during the same window. The reminder includes:

  • How many days are left on the trial.
  • The amount you’ll be charged ($4.99/mo or $39.99/yr depending on what you picked at checkout).
  • A direct link to your billing settings if you want to cancel.

How to cancel

  1. Go to Settings → Billing on the unified dashboard (/dashboard/settings/billing).
  2. Click Manage subscription — this opens Stripe’s customer portal, where Stripe handles the cancellation.
  3. Stripe confirms cancellation by email. You keep Premium access for the rest of the trial period; no charges are made.

Cancelling mid-trial doesn’t shorten the trial — you keep the unlocked features until the original trial end date.

What happens if the trial expires without cancellation

The card on file is charged the regular rate and your subscription becomes a normal paid Premium subscription. You keep access to everything you had on the trial. The first paid month/year runs from the trial-end date forward — no overlap, no double-billing.

Refunds

If you forgot to cancel and only realized after the first charge, email support@bytethirst.com within 7 days of the charge and we’ll refund the first billing cycle, no questions asked. Refunds beyond that window are handled case-by-case.
