Simple Pricing for Powerful Insights

QueryWeight is ByteThirst’s term for the estimated environmental cost of a single AI interaction. It combines three metrics: estimated water consumption (mL), estimated energy use (Wh), and estimated carbon emissions (g CO₂). All figures are estimates based on publicly available research — see our Methodology for details.

Teams is $16.99 per seat per month, or $160 per seat per year ($13.33/seat/mo effective rate, a 22% annual discount), with a 5-seat minimum. Each seat includes full Premium plus team-specific features: the team QueryWeight dashboard, admin controls, and (when shipped) team challenges and goals. The team admin is billed for all seats on a single invoice.

All figures displayed by ByteThirst are estimates, not direct measurements. We use publicly available research data, peer-reviewed methodologies, and conservative assumptions. Every displayed estimate is a baseline mid-point and links to our Methodology page, which publishes the full source list, every coefficient, and the known limitations.

All calculations happen locally in your browser. On any tier, you can opt in to Community Benchmarks, which shares query counts and impact estimates (water mL, energy Wh, CO₂ g) — no personal information or conversation content is ever collected. Premium adds only your email and subscription status. Teams adds daily aggregate QueryWeight per platform shared with your team admin. ByteThirst never collects your conversations, prompts, responses, or browsing activity. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

Premium and Teams plans include a 7-day free trial. We collect a card via Stripe Checkout when you start the trial — this is required to activate the trial. Cancel any time before day 7 and you won’t be charged. We’ll send you a reminder about 2 days before the trial ends. Stripe processes the card directly; ByteThirst never sees your card number.

Yes. The free tier provides full QueryWeight estimation across all 14 supported platforms and will remain free. Premium and Teams add advanced analytics, team features, and additional functionality on top of the core estimation capabilities.

Yes. ByteThirst estimates the environmental impact of AI code generation tools like Lovable.dev, Bolt.new, and Google AI Studio, which use an estimated 130× more resources than a standard text chat. Code generation sessions produce tens of thousands of output tokens, resulting in dramatically higher estimated water, energy, and carbon footprints.
